-heit oder -keit?

Both endings turn adjectives into feminine nouns. A rule of thumb helps:

• -keit after -ig, -lich, -bar, -sam: die Schwierigkeit, die Pünktlichkeit, die Einsamkeit
• -heit after many short adjectives: die Gesundheit, die Krankheit, die Sicherheit

When you’re unsure in writing, look at the end of the adjective first.
