etwas Neues, nichts Besonderes
After etwas, nichts, viel and wenig, an adjective becomes a neuter noun with a capital letter and the ending -es:
- etwas Neues — something new
- nichts Besonderes — nothing special
- viel Gutes — a lot of good
Trap: after alles the ending is -e: Alles Gute zum Geburtstag!
