Zweiteilige Konnektoren
Two-part connectors make your writing sound clearly B1. Learn them as pairs:
- nicht nur … sondern auch (not only … but also)
- sowohl … als auch (both … and)
- entweder … oder (either … or)
- weder … noch (neither … nor)
- zwar … aber (admittedly … but)
Trap: weder … noch is already negative, so there’s no extra nicht or kein.
Table
| Konnektor | Bedeutung | Beispiel |
|---|---|---|
| nicht nur … sondern auch | not only … but also | Ich lese nicht nur Zeitung, sondern auch Blogs. |
| sowohl … als auch | both … and | Sowohl Kinder als auch Erwachsene nutzen das Internet. |
Tip
Two subjects joined with sowohl … als auch usually take a plural verb: Sowohl mein Bruder als auch meine Schwester haben ein Tablet.
