Adjektive: -los, -bar, -lich, un-

Endings and a prefix also build adjectives:

• -los — without: arbeitslos, kostenlos (free of charge)
• -bar — can be done: machbar (doable), erreichbar (reachable)
• -lich — often from nouns or verbs: verständlich (understandable), freundlich
• un- — the opposite: unpünktlich, unmöglich, unbekannt

Before a noun they take the normal endings from Unit 3: ein kostenloser Kurs.
