man oder Passiv?

In everyday speech man often replaces the Passiv. Both are correct; the Passiv is typical of rules and written texts, man of conversation:

• written: Hier wird der Müll getrennt.
• spoken: Hier trennt man den Müll.

Trap: with man, the thing stays the object, in the Akkusativ: den Müll, not der Müll.
