Prüfung: die Gesamtprüfung
The final task of the course: a full Modellsatz run, all four modules, timed like the real thing. Use the Goethe-Institut’s B1 Modellsatz for adults or the ÖSD’s ZB1 Modellsatz (on the Goethe-Institut and ÖSD websites) — it’s the same exam, so either works for the Goethe-Zertifikat B1 and the ÖSD Zertifikat B1 (ZB1):
- Lesen 65 Minuten, Hören circa 40 Minuten, Schreiben 60 Minuten, with breaks of at least 15 minutes
- Sprechen with a partner: 15 Minuten Vorbereitung, then circa 15 Minuten
- score each module on its own out of 100
Checkpoint: your target is 60 or more in every module; aim for 75+ to give yourself a cushion on the day.

Count your correct items in Lesen and Hören: 18 of 30 is the pass line. Check each Schreiben text against Erfüllung, Kohärenz, Wortschatz and Strukturen.
