Three uses, two words:
- seit + noun (dative): seit dem Umzug, seit drei Jahren
- seit or seitdem + clause, verb at the end: Seit(dem) ich hier wohne, …
- seitdem alone = since then, verb second: Seitdem wohne ich in Linz.
The trap: seitdem cannot replace seit before a noun.
