B1 is where you start to tell stories. Unit 1 gives you the German for your life so far and your plans: the language behind the friend e-mail in Schreiben Aufgabe 1 of the Goethe-Zertifikat B1 and the ÖSD Zertifikat B1 (ZB1).
- your life stations with article and plural: die Kindheit, der Umzug, die Ausbildung
- the Präteritum of sein, haben, the modal verbs and the common strong verbs, and when the Perfekt sounds better
- time clauses: als vs. wenn, nachdem, bevor, während, seit(dem), bis, sobald
- plans and dreams with werden, vorhaben and Ich würde gern …
- the friend e-mail: Anrede, Einstieg, three Leitpunkte, Schluss
Checkpoint: the last lesson prepares Schreiben Aufgabe 1, the informal e-mail of circa 80 words worth 40 points, and sends you to the official Modellsatz of the Goethe-Institut or the ÖSD.
