Jedes Modul zählt allein
The four modules are certified separately:
- you can take them einzeln oder zusammen (separately or together)
- a module you fail, you retake on its own
- a strong module doesn’t make up for a weak one: 95 in Lesen can’t rescue 55 in Schreiben
The Goethe-Institut gives each module a grade (das Prädikat): sehr gut, gut, befriedigend, ausreichend — or nicht bestanden below 60.
Table
| Punkte | Prädikat (Goethe) |

| 100–90 | sehr gut |
| 89–80 | gut |
| 79–70 | befriedigend |
| 69–60 | ausreichend |
| 59–0 | nicht bestanden |
