At B1, home is more than “Ich wohne in …”: you read leases and house rules, sort out trouble with neighbors and write to the property management. Unit 2 gives you the grammar and the words for all of it.

• apartment and lease vocabulary: die Kaution, die Nebenkosten, der Mietvertrag, die Kündigung
• Relativsätze in the Nominativ, Akkusativ and Dativ, and with a preposition: die Wohnung, in der ich wohne
• the Genitiv and wegen, trotz, während, statt
• the Passiv Präsens of the house rules: Der Müll wird dienstags abgeholt.
• neighbors, noise and the formal complaint e-mail
• living together in a WG, a family or across generations, with Vor- und Nachteile

Checkpoint: the last lesson trains Lesen Teil 5 (a text such as a Hausordnung, 4 multiple-choice items) and Schreiben Aufgabe 3 (a formal e-mail of about 40 words) of the Goethe-Zertifikat B1 and the ÖSD Zertifikat B1 (ZB1).
